Future Boating Safety Classes by Flotilla 3-2 (Revised 3/1/2024)

Registration: 7:30am, Class: 8am-4pm, 12 noon Lunch Break Testing: 4pm 

The Boat America class is NYS compliant, NASBLA approved and will satisfy the requirements for operation of mechanically propelled recreational vessels and Personal Water Craft (PWC).  This Coast Guard-approved course is accepted in all 50 states and Canada. A safe boating certificate and card will be issued following successful completion of the class and test. Cost: $25.00 (Check with Registrar about $10:00 discount available to First Responders, Scouts and Students).

According to New York State law, all PWC (Jet Ski) operators, regardless of age, must successfully complete a safe boating course. New York law also states that all power boat operators in New York State must have completed a safe boating course by the year 2025.

Our History:

Flotilla 3-2 primarily services Buffalo & Southern Erie County. Our AOR (Area of Responsibility) is the eastern shoreline of Lake Erie from Buffalo to Sturgeon Point. In addition we service the upper Niagara River from Buffalo to the Erie Canal. Our monthly meetings are held at Hamburg Senior Services Center, 4540 Southwestern Blvd.(Rt. 20) in Hamburg, New York. Members come from all walks of life. We encourage anyone with an interest in joining to contact our FSO-HR. (Flotilla Staff Officer for Human Resources). The FSO-HR can provide information for joining and specific requirements of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Our history is rich with experience and knowledge. It is our goal to continue and build on that heritage.

What we do:

Flotilla members can be found serving the community and educating the boating public in classrooms, boat shows, fairs, fishing derbies and regattas. We participate in safety patrols and search & rescue with emphasis on minimizing loss of life, personal injury and property damage.
